Common questions about the archive, the objects, and the studio. Reach out via Contact for anything not covered here.

01 / GENERAL
What is KASHEER? 01

KASHEER is a handloom and craft archive committed to documenting and producing Kashmiri textile work in limited quantities. Every object is registered, numbered, and dispatched with provenance notes.

Where are objects produced? 02

Every object is woven in Kashmir by a single registered artisan. Production is documented under the archive's object number and signed off before dispatch.

Are objects produced to order or in advance? 03

Most objects are produced in limited runs and made-to-order is offered for select archive pieces. Lead times are noted on the individual object page.

02 / OBJECTS & CRAFT
What is the difference between Kani and Pashmina? 04

Kani is a tapestry-weave technique. Pashmina refers to the fibre, sourced from Changthangi goats in the Ladakh highlands. Both can co-exist in a single object — see the provenance notes on each object page.

How do I care for handwoven garments? 05

Hand wash in cool water with mild detergent. Lay flat to dry, away from direct sunlight. Avoid tumble drying and chemical cleaning. Detailed care notes accompany every object.

Why are colours and patterns slightly inconsistent? 06

Variation is inherent to handwork. Each object reflects the hand of a single weaver and the day's natural light. Variations are documented and not considered defects.

03 / DISPATCH & RETURNS
How long does dispatch take? 07

Standard dispatch is 5–10 working days from order registration. International transit varies by region and is calculated at acquisition.

What is the return policy? 08

Objects can be returned within 14 days of receipt in original condition with documentation intact. See the Return Policy document for the full procedure.

Are exchanges possible? 09

Exchanges are subject to availability. Initiate via Contact with the object number.
